"Bailee, let's go…"

Izzy and I are going on a road trip to celebrate me graduating from uni. It's been a few months now and I've been working hard. Izzy says I need to let my hair down, but partying is just not my scene. It's my last few weeks of freedom; I've just landed a job as a pediatric nurse thanks to my new degree. It will be strange no longer working as a chef. While we are away, I'm looking at an amazing apartment I found online because my new job is on the Gold Coast. Melbourne just doesn't feel like home anymore. As much as I love the cooler weather, I need a change in scenery. I'm going to ask Isabelle Pearce to move in with me. We've been best friends, inseparable since the 4th grade; we're practically sisters. I grab the gift bag off the bed. I have a little surprise for her. I skip out into the lounge room, kiss her dad on the cheek and promise to take care of his daughter. Suddenly I stop to look at her, with my brows furrowed. We burst into hysterics; we've dressed almost identically. Long black pants and white tops, plus we've managed to both do a high ponytail in our hair. Don shakes his head at the two of us.

"I swear you two girls share the same brain sometimes."

We both kiss Don's opposite cheek and head for the door.

I open the door; Izzy is driving, looking hot in her Chanel glasses I gave her a few days ago as we left for this trip. We're on the highway singing and laughing. We've had a great time doing karaoke, dancing, singing, and hanging out at the beach.

….

The silver car is coming up the on ramp too fast. Izzy panics and swerves into the next lane, not seeing the semi-truck. She only taps him, but the sound of exploding metal is sickening. ISABEL….. I come to… the sound of sirens is deafening in my ears.

"Izzy, IZZY! ARE YOU OK?"

There's no answer. Someone is standing over me. It's a police officer.

"Miss, you've been in an accident, you're ok" he soothes.

"Isabelle, Where's Isabelle?" I beg.

"The paramedics are arriving now" he tries to reassure me.

I drift. I come to and I'm on the stretcher as they run past with Izzy heading for a helicopter. I sit up, pain searing through my body.

"ISABELLE! NO! Izzy! Ahh!" I scream as a paramedic, and the police officer grabs me.

"LET ME GO PLEASE! Izzy! PLEASE ISABELLE!"
