This was the most unique book I’ve ever read, I liked the writing style, I could easily imagine the comic, the description of it was great. The story was intriguing in the beginning but then I slowly started to lose interest. I was ready for some kind of a revelation at the end of the story but I got none. All in all, it was an okay book (story-wise) for me. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I immensely enjoyed reading this book. The authors writing style is truly a treasure that I loved reading. The only complaint I have is having gotten this as an ARC when I transferred the file it did not have the cover attached to it, which is a shame because I also really enjoy the cover.Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. This book has a very interesting concept, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
In the wake of a tragedy, eccentric comic book artist and writer Kellan Savoy created one final work and then disappeared. That work, a series about a man who tries to make a golem to replace his dead lover, is presented here for the first time: Window Eyes is a collection of annotated issue summaries summoned from the memories of the only person to read the work before it vanished with Kellan, Kellan's best friend Thomas Levi, who hopes that in sharing it, he might be able to shed some light on the mystery of its creation and disappearance. I tried to follow the author's advice to read the text through and then go back and reread it with the footnotes, but I never was able to finish reading the text, which consists of descriptions of illustrations in a book. There is a female golem in it.
I'm willing to say that my inability to connect with the medium was far worse than my inability to connect with the book.
