This book was awesome!!! I devoured it in 2 days!!! After reading it I realized that it's a spinoff of a different series so now Im going to have to read that too!!!!!Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into this. The concept sounded great, but I'm not enjoying it and found myself skimming and flipping through the pages so I'm going to DNF this. The writing style just wasn't doing it for me. While it was mostly just one of those books that isn't going to work for me, there were occasional lines that just completely took me out of it. I might have given this a bit more of a chance, but it's also incredibly long (was it edited down? I see the official page count is substantially shorter than the pdf ARC I received...) Maybe the reading experience is better if you've read the series it's connected to? Looking at the reviews, others had a great time with this book so please don't take my non-enjoyment as a sign to not read it!Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I received this as an ARC. I wasn’t aware this was part of a series. At first it felt intimidating seeing how long the book was. It’s split in two parts and I feel like it would have been better to read as two books. There was a lot of religious tones that I wasn’t expecting either. Given the context I expected some and references but now how it was portrayed. Mostly about pro god stuff. I did find it moderately enjoyable though and can see why the fan base would enjoy it. Maybe if I read the others in the series it would have appealed to me more. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I really enjoyed reading this, and getting to dive deeper into the world with this spin-off. Kuivalainen has done an amazing job making dynamic characters who are unforgettable, in a world that's on the brink of a supernatural apocalypse. The story itself moves along smoothly, and keeps the tension up from start to finish. There's a lot of good vs evil with some mythology and heavier Christian themes than the previous books, but not in a way that makes it feel heavy-handed. I'd say this strays closer to Christian fantasy than any of the previous books, so if that's not your cup of tea, maybe skip over this one. Definitely recommend, and I hope there are more books coming in this series! Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. Wow this was like two books in one. Very well written and while not my favorite book I've ever read, it was an interesting story with a spiritual theme.keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
