Fiction. Literature. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) HTML:Is living the life youve wished for really a dream come true?
Lucy Young is twenty-six and tired. Tired of fetching coffees for senior TV producers, sick of going on disastrous dates, and done with living in a damp flat with roommates who never buy toilet paper. After another disappointing date, Lucy stumbles upon a wishing machine. Pushing a coin into the slot, Lucy closes her eyes and wishes with all her might: Please, let me skip to the good part of my life.
When she wakes the next morning to a handsome man, a ring on her finger, a high-powered job, and two storybook-perfect children, Lucy cant believe this is realespecially when she looks in the mirror, and staring back is her own fortysomething face. Has she really skipped ahead like shes always wanted, or has she simply forgotten a huge chunk of her life? As Lucy begins to embrace new relationships and the perks of maturity, shell have to ask herself: Can she go back to her previous life, and if so, can she stand to leave the good part behind?

Kinda like the midnight library meets Click but not as good.
The FMC spends the first part of the book being a people pleasing passive pushover and the next half whining and complaining about being “old” and changing diapers.
The “romance” sucked - didn’t feel it at all. ( )

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC!

This was such a lovely combination of thirteen going on thirty and other lovely memories, but it really carried a huge emotional punch. I loved the thought put into each scenario, the growth of the main character. Even though the premise gives mega anxiety, it was a total delight ☺️ ( )

Lucy is 26 and things are not going well. She isn't happy at her job, her best friend is getting ready to move out of their grimy flat, and her dating prospects are abysmal. After a bad night, she wanders into a shop and sees a machine that will grant you a wish. She tries it, and she asks to be taken to the good part, when her life is more settled, and things are better.
The next morning she wakes up in a new life! Sam-her husband, 2 children, and a big-time job. What?? She is 16 years in the future, and she can't remember a thing. As she navigates this new part of her life, she has to decide if she wants to return to being 26, or to stay in this new life.
Cute, funny at times, but with a bit of reality thrown in, a good story about living your life and not wishing it away. ( )

I wasn't sure this was going to be good in the beginning but I stuck with it and it was cute and unique ( )
