His hooves were of gold and they shone yellow in the firelight, and his ears pricked like petals, as though he were listening. His eyes were as clear and yellow as September moons. I didn't like this one as much as the Lizzie Dripping stories. It's the story of a little girl called Molly whose fisherman father catches a magical horse in his nets, and the reaction of the villagers to the magical creature which is thought to bring good luck to anyone who touches it. I wasn't engaged by the story, or the characters and found it a bit boring and nothingy. *possible spoilers* Sometimes when I read a children's book, I think "maybe I'd like it better if I was reading it as a kid". I don't think that would've made a difference with this book, though. The writing was good and the descriptions were nice, but the plot was too jumbled and out-there. So little explanation was given for anything, and Molly was all over the place... was she trying to save the donkeys or the sea pony? It was too hard to tell what she was focused on from page to page, and it really took away from the actual plot. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Molly's father, a fisherman, brings home a tiny pure white sea horse with hooves of gold. They plan to return him to the sea, but when the townspeople hear of his existence they want to keep him as the village mascot. When mysterious things start to happen, the town is quickly bought to its senses. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
