Loved reading this. Along with recipes that were mouthwatering, there were interesting antidotes about growing up in Cajun country in the 1920's, 30's and 40's. Many of the recipes I will not try. They are either too spicy or strange for my family, too hard or expensive to find ingredients for, or too complicated to be worth the effort. However, some looked yummy and reasonable to fix, so I will try them. ( )
