First of all thanks to LibraryThing, the author and the editor for the opportunity to read this bookI'm Spanish, from Asturias in the North, and it has much to do with Ireland (climate, character of the people, etc.). I learnt English there and it's kind of my second Homelad (my wedding ring has a claddagh in it). I'm also a boomer, although a late one (1964, just in the brink). So, this book reuniting both those things I like very much, Irish humour and Boomers, I supposed it would interest me, and I was right. I really enjoyed it. If it has a small deffect it's that it is very short and doesn't develop things maybe enough sometimes. But I enjoyed every page. So much so that I intend to read more books by this autor if I can. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I received this item through the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program. I had it in ebook format. To label it a "book" would be to really stretch the concept. It is 38 pages in length. Each chapter is about two pages and features a few pithy thoughts on an aging-related topic. One especially odd thing about it was that the last sentence in many of the chapters stated that more information on the topic would come later, but no more appeared in the rest of the book. The articles are sweet little reflections on life by an aging Baby Boomer. There's nothing here that we have not all read elsewhere. Each of the pieces would make a nice introduction to chapters in a future book should the author care to expand his thoughts further. Otherwise, skip it for now. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. As an aging Baby Boomer, I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately, it was a dud. The author attempted to inject humor and be both witty and funny, but it fell way short. I found nothing in the book either humorous or funny. The strangest thing is at the end of each chapter, there are phrases such as, "As we go on," "We'll explore," "This chapter will." But then nothing. There was no more. Odd expressions to end a chapter with. At the end of the book, the author describes the book as a "chuckle train." I think the chuckle train derailed before it left the station. Hopefully your experience with the book will be more enjoyable. I want to thank the author for providing me a copy of the book to review. The opinions of my review are my own. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Book about little reflections on life as a baby boomer. As funny as some remarks were I didn't personally resonate with much being a millennial myself.
I also found it was just the typical things out there you hear and nothing very new added or elaborated, as in fact the book suggests at the end of many chapters.
Basically for me it was witty on certain points but noting to shout about! ( )
