I was 1o when i picked this book up from a charity shop, i might go there more often. I was a bit ticked of how i got the second book, i have never read the first, yet! I loved the plot, the magic and the witches! I liked how it was orinal but modernised, i fyou get my drift. Still witches in cloaks, but ith 4 jaws and snakes that live in fall towers this really appealed to me as i was going though a 'Magic' stage at school! I loved Eric and Rachel and the birds who made me laugh, i read it every second break for a week so i was proud of myself when i finished it. Morpeth was my favourite, i liked how we linked with the 'Cars are to loud and nerve him' because i hate roads too, that's odd for most people. My favourite animals/insects till this day are snakes and butterflies, no idea why i liked them before this book and after. Having defeated Dragwena, Rachel, Eric and Morpeth are now living at home on Earth, coming to terms with their powers. However, the witches, lead by Heebra, Dragwena's mother are coming for revenge. The scent of magic is just as breathlessly action packed as the Doomspell, you wont be able to put it down. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

**Second book of the Doomspell Trilogy**
Isn't there just a small part of you that would love to have some magical powers?... Just that something extra to help you out of a sticky situation, or play a practical joke? In "The Scent of Magic" (book two of the Doomspell Trilogy) magical powers are unleashed everywhere in the children of the planet Earth.
In this sequel to "The Doomspell", Rachel (with her incredible but still newly-found magical abilities), and her brother Eric (with his unique quality of "anti-magic" - capable of destroying spells!) must pit their wits once again against the evil magic from Ool, home of the witches. Only, this time, they do not have just one furious witch to face... In fact the witches' hatred is so intense that they decide to enlist the help of other magical Earth children, in their desire to track down and destroy Rachel and Eric.
Although with a slightly slower start, this is every bit as action-packed and gripping as the first book in the trilogy and I now can't wait to read book three! All ages 8+ will enjoy the Doomspell books. ( )
