Nine-year-old Rehema takes her first trip away from her small village to visit the people and places throughout Tanzania, from the city of Arusha to the thrilling Ngorongoro game reserve.

I particularly liked the photographs in this book, as they are good for starting discussions about the material aspects of life in Africa (Tanzania particularly). The story of Rehema's special trip with her father is a nice concept, but my kid "test readers" didn't really care for this one. I think the narrator's voice did not seem lively or genuine and the photos, while interesting for an adult, may have featured too much scenery and "cultural" stuff and not enough of a real plot to maintain childrens' interest.
