Getting Hillary once again. ( )

Well, now this book is thoroughly obsolete considering it was written before both of Clinton's presidential runs, but at the time I read it I thought was an excellent and fair biography of an extremely polarizing political figure. Clinton is sometimes described as "the most famous person that no-one knows," her character and personality obscured by a haze of filtered media interpretation, robotic political acting, and sometimes deliberate obfuscation by a political power couple almost obsessed with secrecy - often to their detriment. But by the time you finish this, you will know who she is - feminist, VERY methodist, surprisingly conservative in some ways yet radical in others, secretive as mentioned, protective of her husband, and can definitely hold a grudge. There's very good work done here, which is too bad because you probably won't read it. And why should you? The era of the Clintons is finally over - and Hillary will never become president. ( )

This biography accurately reflects all Hillary's challenges throughout her political career. It's a tough but fair look at a fighter. ( )

This was an interesting book choice based on what was happening in US politics at the time of my reading - Obama defeated Clinton for the Democratic Presidential nomination as I was paging through the biography. I liked the way Bernstein handled his subject matter - I know he's a democratic but he didn't try to oversell it. I found this to be fair and impartial for the most part with some interesting insights into behaviour and decisions made between 1992 and 1999. ( )
