This thoughtful collection of prayers emerged from Brueggemann's thirty-five years of teaching in seminaries. Full of reflection, faith, and dialogue, they reveal another side of this gifted author from what his many readers are accustomed to. Walter Brueggemann is a master of words. These prayers are beautiful and powerful, and are the kind that will be read over a lifetime, privately and publicly. There is an index of scripture passages on which the prayers are based. ( )
