For some of the darlings of the literary world wot have thousands of reviews here on LibraryThing while such a beautifully lyric author like [[Joy Harjo]] top have none is nothing short of tragedy. This slim volume is packed with keen insights told in rhythmic, evocative language. Some are prose poems, almost narrative in feel, and others are more traditional poetic structure. But everything is honed to a sharp edge. Life-affirming and quickening, all she has to say resonates like a tuning fork imbedded firmly in the soul. There's a reason she was the United States Poet Laureate for multiple terms; if only more of the reading world was paying attention to her. I started my year with her memoir [Crazy Brave] and ended my year with her here - I'm so glad.
