When you use weird lettering throughout to make your comic book look "cool", you'd better also make sure that it's "legible". A waste of time. ( ) Cole Blaquesmith was in love. But that was another time, and now he is dead. Oh wait, it's now the future of the past in clockwork London and Cole has been bound to a coal-powered husk of a body. Yo, he's super strong and his arm is made of iron! Disoriented and out of his element to say the least, Cole searches for his love Fiona, whilst battling not only visions of the past but the stark ruthless forces of hoity-toity London's monarch, the abominable [colourfully-spoken] Absinthe! Have at! The story is a bit convoluted, but once you allow yourself to get sucked into this London, things start to come into focus. It's an alternative history where a man fights for love and setting things right where he had a hand in making things go very wrong. To try and describe a plot that involves everything from grave robbers to soul thieves to class warfare to time travel to dog soldiers in a steampunk environment would be exhausting. The drawing and lettering render this unreal. Not only are the drawings detailed beyond belief, but the lettering itself deserves recognition as a special guest character. Creativity in varying fonts and colors adds another dimension and depth to the various characters and their speeches - one definitely gets a feel for the tone of Carbon 14-Black Tape font when a character calls another characters name in it. Beyond that, it's clear they developed an entire universe - even the epigraphs are from the history of this alternate world - that was hard-won. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
