This book is a dog, or at least that's the purpose of this book, to convince you that it is. The dog tells the story of how he was magically transformed by a wizard into what he is now, a book. The dog then tells about how he tried to get back to being a dog, but to no avail. Finally he asks us to love him like the dog that he is, even in book form. Thanks to the fuzzy end pages, an attached leash and a wagging pop-up tail, we can really start to appreciate this book as the dog it really is.

I thought this story was so cute. The pop up tail and leash that hang off of the book make a fun interactive pop-up book that doesn't seem too baby-like. I was genuinely curious about how the book would convince me that it was a dog, and I was tickled by the outcome.

Open me. I'm not really a book. I'm actually a dog! This is a book that begs to be patted, hugged and loved. A thoroughly enchanting tale from the author of Maus. ( )
