Incorporates catholic theology, strong female characters, a locked room mystery and lots of facts about USN air craft carriers. ( ) Bishop Blackie Ryan is flown to an aircraft carrier under the guise of confirming some naval officers. It is a ruse for him to get aboard and find out about some unsolved murders. I love Greeley's theology which he incorporates into his stories, the feminism of God, the mother! Good book. Written in 1997. Greeley was so ahead of his time. Sad that he had a traumatic brain injury three years ago and is no longer able to write:( Fans of Bishop Blackie will enjoy this venture onto a U. S. Navy Aircraft Carrier to solve a locked room mystery. It includes the usual romantic interests, strong women characters, and political insight into the Catholic Church. An additional twist is the parallel between church hierarchy and Navy hierarchy and how each is coping with changes in society, and a good, fairly surprising ending.
