Learning how to be equal and play with friends ( )

This book has wonderful illustrations and is a good book to teach kids about working together and friendship. The three animals work together to do tasks that they could not do by themselves. An awesome picture book for Kindergarten/ 1st grade. ( )

A little odd, what with the rooster having a perfect rainbow tail, for example. But very simple, with no real conflict or drama. Just oh so sweet. ( )

This story is about a mouse, pig and rooster that are best friends. They do everything together. They go on long bike rides and even set sail on the village pond with a boat they found. They always say friends do things together, but when they are tired and ready to sleep for the night they realize that they all can't sleep in the same spot. The mouse hole is too small, the pig pen is too messy and they can't all perch on the rail in the hen house. But they dream about one another instead so they are always with each other some how.
I liked this book because it shows kids that no matter how people look or how different they are that you can always be friends.
I would have the children pick out what kind of animal they would be friends with and why then tell what they would do together.
