I enjoyed this story because it is told from the perspective of a young girl whose sister is getting married. The young girl describes her emotions such as excitement for her sister to be married, but sadness that she may not get to see her sister as often. I found this book relatable because I experienced the same emotions when my older sister got married. The main idea of the story is that it is okay to experience a range of emotions while joining two people in marriage. ( )

This sweet book is written from the perspective of a little girl, who is not only excited for her older sisters wedding but is also sad she will be moving out of the house. The little girl begins by talking about the whole process of preparing for a wedding. The events are exciting and overwhelming at the same time. This is a very cute story that young readers could relate to the bittersweet time of preparing for a wedding. I would recommend this book for children ages 5-8 because it's a easy read, few words and great illustrations! ( )

"The Wedding" is story told through the eyes of a little who believes her sister is leaving the family forever when she gets married. It shows how strong the African American cultural views family and togetherness. The story line was simplistic however, very nice book for any student going through simuliar situations. ( )
