Illustrations provide a life and movement that complements the rhythmic melody of the text. Bright, vivacious and cute. ( ) The book "Jazz Baby" by Lisa Wheeler and R. Gregory Christie is about family, friends, and neighbors enjoying themselves by dancing and singing. After the fun ends, the baby in the book is tired and the music changes. From jazz to lullabies, the baby is asleep. This book includes colorful pictures that represent the words in the book successfully. For example, when written, "Itty-bitty baby's hands clap-clap-clap", the baby can be seen clapping in his crib nearby. (Jazz Baby). The illustrations allow the reader to feel the rhythm and motion that the characters are portraying. This book is entertaining and shows that everyone can have fun together through dance and song. This book brought family, friends, and neighbors together in a fun, loving experience. Not only did my little granddaughter repeatedly asked for this book, but she walked around the house saying “jazz baby” and “go, man, go.” This is a super enjoyable book to read to a child. It is rhythmic and interactive. Even if the child has never heard a single bit of jazz music, they will go away with an idea of its flavor. Written in rhyme and easily sung, the book shows how a baby’s musical family entertains him, and each other, throughout the day. It begins, “Brothers hands tap. Sister’s hand snap. Itsy-bitsy Baby’s hands clap – clap – clap!” The illustrations are odd. People are drawn with black outlines colored in with watercolors. Features are exaggerated and distorted. Most arms and legs are like spaghetti, lacking elbows and knees. Yet, it works. Neither you nor your child will tire of this book. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
