This book is considered one of the definitive books of the extreme right. It argues that the imposition of an income tax was against American principles and gave the US government more revenue with which they could get up to mischief. It is essentially a "one argument" book that keeps repeating the same thing.

One of the things not discussed in the book was that one of the reasons the income tax was introduced was that it was necessary to make up for the loss of tax revenues generated from alcohol during the prohibition years. ( )
