Daily devotional for the whole year; also thru the Bible in a year chart.

I loved the idea of this devotional; the execution wasn't as good as I had hoped. The idea behind it was to do a devotional that wasn't just light, topical, 300-word pithy statements about loving God, but rather to use the format to dig deep into the text. One month's study would basically cover one section of Scripture, each day building on the last.

I like this much better than the typical attempt. So few devotionals seem to have any meat to them. They are only "Love God, trust Him, let's hear it for God!" Few have had any meaning in my walk. So I loved the idea.

The result was pretty good, but it felt like MacArthur still had difficulty getting much real meaning in 300 words. I still enjoyed it, and am looking forward to reading the next one, Strength for Today, this year. ( )
