This book is really cool and reminds me of "Mysterious Thelonious" because of the colors and the way the words are placed around the pictures. This is a really fun way to help children enjoy poetry who aren't normally into it. ( )

this book was a very neat idea. i like the way the author based his poetry around a certain idea and related the whole book of poems to that one area. the illustrations are neat because the pictures in the book are actual pictures of different people playing basketball.
i liked this book because i am a sports fanatic. softball and baseball were my favorite, but basketball comes in next, so i can relate to this book in many ways.
an idea for a classroom extension would be to have the kids write a poem over their favorite activity and find pictures of them doing that activity and make a small book over it. another idea is to have the children write a haiku poem since there are some in this book. ( )
