Of my hadith quartet, this is the one I'd have been most likely to read and enjoy on my own time - a fascinating excursion into the exact nature of the "divinely derived iterability" that my paper terms "awesomeness," and so a partial enabler of my eagerly seized chance to describe speech phenomena in lexical-semantic terms as [±AWESOME], and so thank you for that, William Graham. It's kind of a specialist text, both in terms of presumed knowledge and because not everyone is going to have the patience to slog through a study this length, not just on hadith, but on hadith qudsi specifically - but if it's the kind of thing that turns your crank, then said crank will probably not leave unturned. The series Religion and Society (RS) contributes to the exploration of religions as social systems- both in Western and non-Western societies; in particular, it examines religions in their differentiation from, and intersection with, other cultural systems, such as art, economy, law and politics. Due attention is given to paradigmatic case or comparative studies that exhibit a clear theoretical orientation with the empirical and historical data of religion and such aspects of religion as ritual, the religious imagination, constructions of tradition, iconography, or media. In addition, the formation of religious communities, their construction of identity, and their relation to society and the wider public are key issues of this series.
