Some say they are a cursed people. But those who try to find them will be just as unlucky... Working on a dig on the southern coast of India, the last thing Annja Creed expects is to be hit by a tsunami. Or to strike archaeological gold. But that's exactly what happens when several objects wash ashore in the storm. The relics carry unfamiliar markings that hint at a legendary city. Excited by the prospect of discovering a culture believed lost to civilization, Annja embarks on a perilous journey deep into the heart of danger. She learns of a mysterious artifact that could provide clues to the whereabouts of the lost city, which means trekking through an inhospitable jungle and forbidding terrain. But nature's denizens and death traps are not the only threats: someone else is also pursuing the prize. Just as Annja's grail comes into view, she must ward off an even greater evil. Because deep in the Nilgiris mountains is a race of people that the world forgot. And they don't like strangers.… (mehr)

Series: Rogue Angel Author: Alex Archer Rating: 3 of 5 Stars Genre: Urban Fantasy Pages: 292 Synopsis: Annja finds the remnants of an old shipwreck. It appears to be from a possible Lost Civilization and the descendants of an escapee from there want whatever is on that ship. Because it will lead them to a Lost City filled with treasure. My Thoughts: Annja has adventures. Runs into a modern day pirate and then into a whole city of inbred bestial savages. And uncovers an archeologists' wetdream. And that really sums up everything. This was okay. I would have needed to read the rest ofthe series to have a true appreciation of the character development. ( )

Rogue Angel: Serpent's Kiss, by the pseudonym Alex Archer, is the 10th installment in the Rogue Angel series.

Annja Creed is a part-time archeologist, part-time tv host of "Chasing History's Monsters", and full-time adventurer.

While working on archeological site in India, Annja and the rest of the team are caught in a tsunami. But when they begin uncovering relics in the aftermath of the storm, Annja and the rest of the survivors find themselves in even greater danger. The artifacts that are found are thought to be cursed. And a group of pirates want the treasure for themselves.

As always, Annja must fight her way out of mortal danger, and this time protect an ancient artifact that supposedly leads to a lost city of reclusive cannibals. This was the most exciting and fast-paced Rogue Angel book yet. Pirates and sharks attacks and cannibals, oh my. Ending in a thrilling climax, this is one adventure not to be missed! ( )
