Lighthearted fun romantic suspense. The hero, Chase, is a cop who has been framed for murdering another cop. He hides out with the heroine, Lacy, after her dog drags him in wet and bleeding from an attempt on his life. This is the first of a trilogy and you meet all the characters who will be in the other books but it is not heavy handed. They pretty much all have a part to play in this one. I enjoyed Lacy's crazy mother.

The writing was well done as always from Christi Craig. The hero learned to let go of the past and love again and the divorced heroine also learned to take a chance on a new man. The suspense part of the plot held together pretty well although this is mostly a love story so the suspense was rather light but it did mostly make sense.

One of the things I enjoy about CC's romantic suspense is that the stories are not always about another serial killer or terrorist attack. They are written around fairly ordinary crimes which is refreshing. ( )

A little predictable but fun none the less. With the above description you would think this would be a good read for all age groups BUT NOT, be advised there are graphic sex scenes. ( )

3 1/2 stars. A fun read! Mostly romance, with some light suspense and a good amount of humour. Great characters (including a variety of pets). I had actually read the second book in the series first, and liked it better, but this one was definitely enjoyable. ( )

Was sick, still am really, and wanted to dive into a reading binge. Someone told me this was good and funny. They were right. Really enjoyed this story. ( )

Definitely chick lit, but it was cute, funny and a little steamy. Thumbs up! ( )
