From the day that Morgan-Lee is born, her extraordinarily beautiful and withdrawn older brother, Ginx, is obsessed by her. Inhabiting their own parallel world, the two communicate through a secret language and make-believe stories; when Morgan-Lee begins to explore friendships beyond their closed circle, however, Ginx becomes increasingly disturbed. I really tried to get into this book, reading way more then I should have. I finally decided to give it up. This was not a well written book at all, there was nothing to catch my attention. There was no climax that I could find, and I never knew who the love affair was between that Morgan-Lee kept referring to. I think it may have been a cat but I’m not totally sure as the story was quite confusing to me. Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this book, because I wouldn’t know what to say about it. ( )

I debated whether or not to even write a review of this. I read only about 80 pages, then I skipped to the ending. Why? Because I got it for only 5.95 at a discount warehouse. I really wanted this book for a long while. When it first came out, I wanted the paperback edition, but it was never at any Borders. And imagine my surprise and joy when I discovered this on sale in hardcover format. Well, sadly, I know why it was on sale. The book just doesn't flow. I've read a lot of books about disturbed characters, but I never quite could figure out what was wrong with Ginx. There was something about the way it was written that made me not seem to care to read anymore. And since I planned on giving up on it, I jumped to the ending, which seemed pretty blah as well. Avoid this one.. ( )
