Having read and enjoyed several other titles in the Tanner series, I decided to read all of them in order. This is the first, and we learn what happened to Harry Spring early on. If you like Ross MacDonald you will very much like this series. I'm devouring all of them. The writing is good as are the plots as Tanner peels aware the layers of corruption hidden in family histories. Roland Nelson, an extremely well-known consumer advocate, disappeared for a week, has begin smoking again, and is very nervous about something. His wife wants to know why and hires John Marshall Tanner to find out what's going on in this. Turns out his investigation crosses paths with that of Harry Spring, his friend and colleague, who had been hired by Nelson's daughter to locate her biological parents. Lots of surprises. Good interview with the author at http://www.mysteryfile.com/Greenleaf/greenleaf.html. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Gehört zur ReiheJohn Marshall Tanner (book 1)
Investigating a corporate crusader, John Marshall Tanner runs headlong into personal tragedy When corporations misbehave, Roland Nelson brings them to heel. The most powerful consumer advocate in the country, he's ruthless in exposing cover-ups, especially when the safety of the American people is at stake. But the white knight of the American consumer has secrets of his own, and someone is making him pay. Nelson is being blackmailed, and unless his tormenter is stopped, the final payoff will be murder. Desperate for help, Nelson's wife approaches no-nonsense San Francisco private investigator John Marshall Tanner, who takes time out of his busy schedule of skiptracing and divorce work to look into the businessman's secrets. At first, the job seems routine, but when a brother PI is killed on the job, Tanner realizes there are dark forces swirling around the case. Grave Error is the 1st book in the John Marshall Tanner Mysteries, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
