This is a wonderful mix of poems that include some of her most famous works with others carefully chosen for younger readers. The illustrations add interest and added details. This is printed as part of a larger collection Poetry for Young People series. ( ) This book has some amazing poems and illustrations. Many poems made me feel warm, comforted, and nostalgic. There is something special about the way she writes. I often found myself reflecting on different things and life in general after reading these poems. Such a great collection of poetry, I would recommend this to anyone. I knew I had to read this book when I saw it was Maya Angelou poems for young readers. Maya Angelou is one of my all-time favorite poets, and to be able to introduce her to children is amazing. This book includes some of her most famous work, "Still I Rise" and "Me and My Work". There are so many poems of hers that I would love to analyze, and I wish I would have been introduced to her at a younger age. The illustrations that go along with each poem are beautiful. I loved how each poem had an introduction to further the reader's experience with the poem they are about to read. I love the way this book was done. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
