A great piece of literature about the origins of the Unicorn. This book talks about the different ways that unicorns were thought about, depicted, and valued in societies all over the world. It is an excellent piece of folklore that also gets the reader in tune with other cultures. The illustration are awesome, and the information about the Unicorns in variety and extremely interesting. A bit wordy for beginning readers.

"Behold...the Unicorns" was a fascinating book that was fun but extremely educational book at the same time. Gibbons did a great job of giving the history of unicorns of different cultures and religions from an unbiased standpoint. The illustrations were phenominal and the wealth of information in the book was exceptional. The stories, legends, myths, or whatever of unicorns will probably have you believing in them by the end of the story!

This story tells of all the legends behind the unicorn and where the stories originated from. It also talks about the unicorns qualities and why it was good. It also tells of why it had one horn and why that was so special. This is a great book to read when talking of legends or folktale.
