At first I thought the way the book is laid out was going to entice my interest to read the book but in the end the book and the concept seemed to turn into a mess. The concept of multiplying by ten and introducing exponents is somewhat difficult for young children and I feel that the way the book is laid out made it more difficult to follow the story in the correct order because I wasn't sure where to look next to continue reading. The book also had interesting facts on nearly every page and while interesting, the facts do not seem to relate to the concept in any way. The facts were simply more numbers to add to the already nearly confusing concept of "Power Counting" as Professor X calls his technique. ( ) Very Confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only true math lovers would understand this book. To me there was no natural connection to math, just factual information with very little explanation of the math concept that is being discussed. It does however have a humorous and conversational tone, but was too confusing to hold my attention. From malfunctioning popcorn machine to the infinity of numbers. This book introduces students to a new way of counting by the power of tens. I believe it will be a very helpful tool to teach students the infinite ways to count in a very interesting way. The illustrations are engaging and pretty. It also can be used for both social studies and science. Super busy book about exponential numbers. It was hard to keep up with the dialogue within the book. It was full of information and math words. I even see googol in the book that reminded me of google. I liked how it was different situations that they were using the exponential numbers. Space was my favorite because it truly is infinity out in space. I think that it is a little to busy and confusing for 6 year old to 7 year old, but a student learning the concept could possibly follow and make them expand their experience with EN . I think this book is an okay book. I think the concept is very cute and it can possibly help students to learn different ways to count which i believe is great for students to learn. I personally didn't enjoy that the book was written in dialog. I found it somewhat hard to follow and difficult to stay engaged. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
