This is a wonderful book to read to children to help understand children with special needs. It lets children beware they can do things just like them. Sometimes they have to do things a bit different but they also enjoy the same things as they do.

This book is a great way to show students that we are all the same but still different. Some of us just need a little more help than others. I really like how the pictures are of real people with disabilities doing everyday things. The book also portrays and gives insight to multiple disabilities including down syndrome, blindness, spina bifida, and cerebral palsy. I also really liked how the children are happy and smiling. I feel that this will help students to understand that having a disability is not a bad thing and that these children can do anything they put their mind to. I really enjoyed reading this book. I would definitely read this book to a class to help them understand that everyone is different and special in their own way. ( )

This is a sweet book about capable children with various congenital diseases. However, they power through them and maintain their optimism. For instance, Jewel is four and has cerebral palsy. She sees a speech therapist and had an operation to help her walk. ( )

What a sweet book! This book tells quick, cute stories of children with a wide range of differently-abled abilities. Gina has spina bifida and loves to roll herself to the beach and ride her special bike! David had Down syndrome and loves to play the computer and other games with his mom and friends. Jewel is four and has cerebral palsy. She loves to water plants and look at books. She goes to school and physical and speech therapy, and she's very happy. Emiliano is three with crebral palsy and likes to play in the water and have pillow fights! Sarah is blind and loves to sing. She loves to help her dad cook--especially dessert! As you can see, these kids are perfectly normal and let nothing hold them back. ( )

This book explores the lives of five different children, each with a disability that fails to slow them down. As each introduction says, these kids can do anything.

Everything these kids experience is done in a positive fashion. The kids can go to the beach, visit friends, and play games despite the disabilities that threaten to slow them down. Surrounded by love and patience, these kids get to live their own lives and it shows others that they really can do anything. I liked the pictures showing their daily lives because it includes their walkers and wheelchairs and braille letters. The glossary at the back defines what each disability is, so this is a great book to introduce disabilities to a small child. ( )
