The first sentence -- The organ swelled as Jane ... and the book, believe it or not, goes downhill after that. ( )

These girls are unbelievably dumb. Everything about this book was completely predictable. When Jane leaves Gorgeous because of an offer from Fabulous, she thinks she will be able to finally ditch Champagne. But a child could see that it is because of Champagne that she got the offer at all. It’s Champagne who brings her to Fabulous. And when she finds Champagne in the arms of Tom towards the end, it’s obvious that Tom will turn out to be Champagne’s brother. And when she is running Fabulous while the editor is back, she makes some changes that she is sure will get her fired. We all can see that the publisher will see her brilliance and will give her the editorship instead of keeping the one he has. It’s also beyond belief that when Jane becomes editor, she thinks she will have to get someone else to ghost write Champagne’s book. I guess it never dawned on her until someone practically said it, that Tom being a struggling writer would be the perfect person to do it.

The one thing I didn’t see coming was how Tally saves Mullions. Her hippie mother comes back and decides to turn it into an ashram. Some kind of mystical retreat type place. The opposite of a spa. With the greedy faker boyfriend out of the way, she uses this money to fix the place up. And Jane & Tom get married in the newly renovated estate chapel. ( )
