A cozy mystery. Set in a small community, Moose Creek Junction. The suspect is Lexi Lightfoot. The eccentric character can be either Aunt Gladys or Lexi's older sister Lucy Parnell. The connection to law enforcement is Otis Parnell, Lexi's brother-in-law. The female sleuth who doesn't trust law enforcement, to get it right or soon enough is Lexi.

A humorous cozy mystery that was fun to read. ( )

There was a whole lot I liked about this book and a few things I didn't. Overall I enjoyed it and will read the next in the series.

Lexie owns a small soup 'n sandwich cafe in a very small town in Wyoming. When the book starts her date is killed by a bullet while out snowmobiling. Tagged as a tragic hunting accident no one thinks much more about it (except Lexie) until her next blind-date, arranged by sister Lucy, is also killed. Now everyone wonders if Lexie is killing her dates, at least until Lexie becomes the target.

The suspense and the mystery here were very well done. What I didn't like was the stereotype of the two sisters, daughters of a preacher. Lucy is the "good sister", holier than thou in a lot of cases. Lexie is the "bad sister" who got pregnant in high school and left the home town for 17-18 years, only to come home licking her wounds.

There are glimmers of the two softening in their prescribed molds and that is why I'm willing to go on with the series because mostly the characters are great fun and I enjoyed the book ( )
