A short and sweet Dresden story…but this time the hero is his step-brother, Thomas. The background story is delightfully complicated, in which a bad outcome would be horrendously bad—with the elder gods returning to the world. But Thomas does a skillful sleuthing job which leads to him satisfying his demon appetite so joyously well at the end. ( )

I will 5 ALL of the Dresden books. This short one gave a nice change of perspective, from the viewpoint of Harry's half-brother Thomas Wraith. I would have liked a longer story, but enjoyed it nonetheless. ( )

I am biased when it comes to giving star ratings for the Harry Dresden series. It isn't as much about the writing quality as the fun of the reading and imagination. So this received four stars for fun. A small story, written to feature Thomas Raith, Harry Dresden's brother; this story has as its backbone brotherly love. Thomas must face creatures of great danger to save Harry, and Harry must never know about it. ( )
