A wordless picture book that shows a little girl's first experiences at the beach, as she goes from being afraid of the roaring waves to playing on the shore while gulls soar overhead.

This book was very enjoyable to read and engaging. Despite there being no words I could pick up the story easily and I loved the illustrations. The story line of a little girl being pushed down but then being reminded of the beauty around her was super easy to pick up on and inspiring to young children who may be going through a hard time. This book is good for primary students. It is very simple and understandable.

This story is about a little girl who goes to the ocean and fights with the waves. She gets pulled under by the way but when it washes away she sees that the sand is full of seashells and beautiful things from the ocean. The moral of the story is that something good would come out our the tough times in our lives.

I would use this book as a teaching moment thats not academic. Teachers find ways to teach morals and life skills and I think this would be a great way to tell you students to persevere, because they will make it through the tough times. ( )

A girl visits the sea side, she is greeted by a big wave. The relationship with the wave and girl depicts her emotions about the sea.

I enjoyed the illustrations as this is a wordless book and the story is partly up to the readers imagination. ( )

This is pretty cute. At first I thought it was just going to be a fun book (nothing wrong with that), but I did find something a little deeper in it. While playing with the waves on the beach, the little girl eventually gets drenched by a big one (as one does). While at first she sits there quite upset at the whole ordeal, she then realizes that there are pretty shells all around her. To me, this says that we never truly know what's hiding underneath or behind something. This could be a good thing (like finding pretty shells) or a bad thing (like driving over a bag in the street only to discover it was full of broken glass that has now left you with flat tires). I could go much deeper with this analysis, but I'll leave it there lol.

I really liked the art in this one. The author/artist is Korean, and I can definitely see a distinctly Asian style in the art; I especially liked the look of the seagulls. ( )
