Added to that there are TV cameras at his back investigating a miscarriage of justice, making Rebus a criminal in the eyes of a millions of viewers. Just one mistake is likely to mean a slow and unpleasant death or, worse still, losing his job. THE HANGING GARDEN: DI John Rebus is on the paper trail of a WWII war criminal...until a running battle between two rival gangs on the city streets arrives at his door. 3 novels featuring Rebus, the down and out workaholic Detective Inspector, who by insisting on truth and justice, gets in trouble more often than not with his superiors, and with the bad guys. Just completed the last novel of this collection, The Hanging Garden: Rebus investigates the escalation of turf wars, tries to aid a depressed prostitute, and needs to deal with a personal tragedy that may challenge his integrity. Lots of drama and excitement.

Good read! ( )
