The Penguin uses the Scarecrow and his fear toxins to clear a path for him to take over a larger swath of Gotham City's underworld. In the process, a mutated, powerful Scarecrow monster is created and Batman gets a snootful of Scarecrow's new improved fright gas. The scene where the Scarecrow monster makes it to Wayne Manor and an exhausted, wounded Batman stands it off on his own is quite a well-handled battle scene, displaying Batman's courage and resourcefulness. Also features quite a striking splash page of a maskless, injured Batman in Wayne manor preparing to do battle. Quite good action artwork by Dustin Nguyen, too. ( )
