Interesting subject matter, but boringly written. An added advantage is the excellent discussions of the methodologies used in verifying conclusions about what Jesus himself said as opposed to what the Gospel writers attributed to him. I know that there is lively discussion on this topic so it is probably not enough to read just one. Therefore, I will also read Marcus Borg's book on the historical Jesus. ( )
