This is a humorous book that demonstrates different ways in which life is not fair, especially within the point-of-view of children. It helps to explain to young children that not everything in life is fair. A person may want curly hair when their own hair is straight. A person may have something that you cannot have or afford to have. Sometimes things like wanting a pet giraffe can seem unfair to a child, probably because they do not see that it is impractical. Getting sick, or losing at a game can seem unfair. I think it shows children that others feel this relatable way and it is important to come to an acceptance that not everything will always be fair. ( ) It's not fair is about different children and their dilemmas of someone always seeming to get something more or better than what they have. There is no real resolution in the book, but I can see the merit of listening to it's not fair over and over when it comes to reading it to a child. After all, they say it a lot!. This book is about the concept of fairness. The book reflects on everyone in the world, including animals, objects, people, and things, that all think that life is not fair at times. After reading the author's note at beginning of the book, her intention behind the story is clearer. At first when I was reading the book, I didn't understand the concept the book was trying to teach children, as the entire book just talks about everything not being fair without any resolution. After the explanation that the book is to show children that everyone thinks, "It's not fair," and that their thoughts are normal, it makes more sense to me. I'm not too crazy about this book. The illustrations are very cute and really enhance what is going on, but the way the concept is portrayed and talked about I don't particularly love. I don't think I would introduce this book in a classroom setting, but rather find another book that talks about the concept of fairness instead. I chose this book because my 6 and 8 year old have been complaining quite a bit lately about why life isn't fair. I thought this book would be a fun way to discuss the concept and bring some humor to the reality. This book could easily be used in an early elementary classroom to discuss the concept of fairness that comes up quite frequently. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
