The Hobyahs is a book about little cat like goblins. They come at night and try to eat the parents and steal the little girl. But the dogs keep barking and scare them away. But every morning the old man or woman gets mad that the dogs kept them up all night that they scare them off one by one until they are all gone. So the Hobyahs come and eat the old man and woman and take the little girl. For the rest of the story you will have to read it.

As a student I liked this book. Even though it was a very peculiar book it was interesting. I liked the idea of this book, because it played on my imagination. I found myself imagining what the hobyahs looked like before I even saw them in the illustrations. I also like the ending of the story, even though it was predictable.

As a teacher this book would be great around Halloween. I could read them the story and have them draw what they thought the Hobyahs looked like. I could also use this story as a beginner reading book, because it is very repetitive. ( )
