A group of children decided to takes short cut by walking along the train track in order to reach to their grandmother's house. While on there way they could hear the sound of the train coming towards them they quickly jump of the train track and waited for the train to pass. They hurried home and kept it as a secrets among themselves.

This book is about kids who wanted to take a shortcut homed when warned by their grandma not to take the shortcut and take the road instead. The kids don't listen and end up learning their lesson when a train almost hit them as they tried to take the shortcut. ( )

The book is talking about the dangers of things we are told not to do but still want to try out, just like the children in the book were told had to use the shortcut.
