The childrens picture book, "Elmer and Snake", written by, David Mckee, follows the story of Elmer the Elephant and other animals in the forest playing a joke on one another. The beginning of the story other elephants thought Elmer was planning a trick on them, so the elephants go to Snake for a joke to play. ( ) Modern Fantasy: Elmer was an elephant who the rest of the elephants wanted to trick. The elephants didn't know how to trick them so they went to ask their friend the snake. The snake told them to tell Elmer he was looking pale and that Elmer would believe them. But the snake decided to play a trick back to the rest of the elephants and went ant told Elmer what was happening. Snake painted Elmer in white mud and made him look really pale. The other elephants fell for the trick. Review: This was a very cute book about friendship. It teaches children about friends and playing with them, but also being nice at the same time. The book includes many different animals and colors in this book. The illustrations were very engaging too. Summary: The book starts out by a group of elephants wanting to play a trick on their friend Elmer. They go to ask their friend snake how they should prank him because they couldn't think of ideas themselves. Snake tell the elephants to tell Elmer to go lay under a tree and told them to tell Elmer he looks really pale. On their way back the elephants get all the other animals in the jungle to join in on the prank. Meanwhile snake went to go tell Elmer about their plan. Snake decides to help Elmer and trick the other elephants. When the elephants get back they ask Elmer if he is okay and that he should go lay down because he looks pale. Elmer agrees and walks away to go lay down. Snake was waiting there for him with a pile of white mud, and starts to cover Elmer with it. When the elephants go to check on him they find that he really is pale and they start to worry. Finally Elmer wakes up and all of the white mud falls off of him. All of the elephants laugh and play with each other after a long day of playing pranks with their friends. (On behalf of my 7 year old: humouress) It's a very good kids' book and it's relaxing and it's really a nice book to read. And it's very exciting when you're going to find out what happens next. And it's a nice story to read in the night, especially 'Elmer and Snake' by David McKee. It's a really good book and I really like it. Thank you David McKee. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
