I liked the transformation of the character from a snobby rich girl to someone more well rounded and reasonable. But, the plot felt like one of those over played movies that I see all too often, and the other characters didn't do to help grab and pull me in. A nice fluff read, but obviously I wasn't that into it because it took me so long to read it. ( )

This book is all about confusing summer love and a rich, high-class snob who transforms into a sweet, innocent, good-natured girl. After thowing an awesome party, her parents cach her and she's sent away to work with a boy on an old wine house in Napa. Throughout the summer she begins to see who truly matters to her, but is it her popular, hot boyfriend, or the sweet, incredible country boy?

I really wanted to give this five stars. I really do.I think Hailey Abbott has a really cute story. Maddy, a spoiled rich girl was sent to Napa for throwing a party in her house without her parents knowing. She was basically a brat who had to get used to life with miles and miles of vineyard around her for the whole summer, which was very different from her life in the city. Then entered David, and slowly, the summer she thought would suck suddenly became so interesting.Maybe I've just read one too many romance chick-lits these past few days, but I wasn't feeling this one so much. There are a lot of very cute moments, and I laughed and giggled while I read it, but it just wasn't enough. It felt different reading this one.But I am so happy for Maddy. Napa changed her, and changed her for the good. She wasn't the spoiled rich brat anymore. And David was sooo much better than Brian. I wonder what happened to Rain? I actually wanted Rain and Maddy to fight over David, just so the story would have a bit of spice. But I'll take what I can get.I think Hailey Abbott's writing is amazing and I am definitely going to read her other books! ( )

Maddy Sinclaire is your typical rich girl. She loves to party the night away, has the perfect gorgeous boyfriend, Brian, and she knows that she's about to have the summer of her life. Her parents are headed up to their newly purchased vineyard up in Napa and they're trusting Maddy at home in the city by herself for the entire summer. The first night her parents are gone she throws the ultimate summer party, but then she gets an unexpected visit from her parents. Apparently, they forget a few important documents and had to turn around and crashed the party.

Not trusting Maddy anymore they bring her back with them to Napa to spend the entire summer helping fix up the vineyard. Maddy is devastated that she has to spend the summer away from her friends and Brian and then, on top of that, she is going to be imprisoned in the middle of nowhere!

When she gets to Napa, though, she unexpectedly meets David, the extremely cute son of her dad's business partner and the boy she's going to work with all summer. Although she hates to admit it, Maddy starts wondering if Brian is really the right guy for her, or if David, who's nothing like she is, might just be worth her time.

This was definitely the perfect summer read. Light, fun, and romance-filled -- what girl could resist? While it was your classic clichéd story, I thought it was super-cute and wish that I could be as lucky with guys as Maddy!!! I enjoyed seeing Maddy's character develop from a rich snob to a down-to-earth girl who could appreciate the beauty of nature.

I'm not going to lie, at first I despised Maddy; she was whiny and stuck-up, but as the book progressed she became very likable and relatable. The book was also very funny. The author created a ton of humorous situations where I found myself laughing out loud. For fans of Hailey Abbott's previous books, THE OTHER BOY will not disappoint! ( )
