In a speech at the Tercentenary Conference of the Religious Society of Friends, an English Quaker recreates the summer of 1652. Foulds writes of the earliest Quakers of 1652, when George Fox gathered seekers around Pendle Hill and Swarthmoor Hall in northwest England. As Francis Howgill wrote, "The Kingdom of Heaven did gather us, and catch us all, as in a net." She tells of a number of experiences and Friends from these early days to illustrate the vitality and power of their faith, using these stories also to teach us how to meet the challenges of today, parallel to the challenges of 1652, by our Quaker faith. This is inspiring as well as informative, a Quaker history that shows us how to live our faith right now. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
