Dartelli tries to convince others that apparent suicides of local pedifiles are really serial killings that turn out to be perpetrated by drug company afraid that a ?castration? drug trial will be jeaprodized if these guys are tied to the company. Early days, genetic research and computer hacking are the science and technical elements that raise this police procedural, a cut above. Very driven and guilt-wracked Joe Dartelli has to play loose and fast to resolve the mystery of why murders of sex offenders are craftily turned into plausible suicides. Lots of angst as a former mentor seems to be somehow involved but plots within plots really complicate Dart's work. Deep but a fast moving storyline makes this book a fun read. In Chain of Evidence, Hartford Detective Joe Dartelli is investigating a string of suicides that just don't seem right. Dartelli is convinced that the scenes are homicides staged to look like suicides and worse, he fears his old mentor - a master with forensic science and trace evidence - may be involved. What follows is a fast paced thriller with twists and turns at every angle. While trying to recruit help from his computer hacker ex-girlfriend, and pursuing a relationship with a sexy lieutenant, Dartelli tries to convince others of his theory and uncovers an even larger cover up in the process. Ridley Pearson shows his skill as a crime novelist mixing action packed drama with suspense and romance, driving the plot with characters that readers are drawn to invest in. Overall, an exciting and entertaining read. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

HTML:Can Detective Joe "Dart" Dartelli uncover the truth? Or, more importantly, does he dare? Detective Joe "Dart" Dartelli made one critical mistake in his police career: He chose to ignore a piece of evidence in a case labeled a suicide that might have been a murder. The dead man was himself a vicious woman-killer who more than deserved his fate, but that ignored evidence pointed to Dart's former mentor, the brilliant forensic specialist Walter Zeller. Now another suicide victim turns upâ??the body of a wife-beaterâ??and the evidence clearly shows that the death was self-inflicted . . . or does it? Zeller was the best at reading and understanding the forensics of a crime sceneâ??could he have manipulated it? Worse, why has Zeller disappeared? It terrifies Dart to suspect that Zeller is in fact on some twisted vigilante crusade, but Dart also knows that if he's right, only he can stop it. Chain of Evidence is the intense, heart-pounding story of student versus mentor in the playing field of forensic investigation. Ridley Pearson links computer technology, psychological intensity, and complex questions of police and human ethics to create this breathlessly paced, unputdownable thril Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
