As a father helps his young son get ready for bed, the child asks how the various animals in the barnyard prepare for the night. Genre- Historical fiction because the books plot takes place in a historical place. Age- primary and intermediate Summary- This book was about a family that went to town and the little girls were so shocked by what they saw in the store and how many people were in the town and all the horses they saw. The ended up going next to the river and having a picnic with the family. Then it was getting late and they had to go home and everyone was really tired from the long day of experiences. Review- I really enjoyed this book because I love how it sorta based of true events. I think that it would definitely be something that goes in my class for my students to read. It was short and sweet. media- crayon Illustrations: acrylic painting. This book is about a little girl named Laura Ingalls who lived in a little house in the woods in Wisconsin with her dad, mom, and sisters. One day her dad takes the whole family into town and Laura is very excited because she has never been to a town before. They go into town, visit the store and eat lunch on the grass by the pond. This book is historical fiction because it is a fiction story set in the past and borrows true characteristics of the time period in which it is set. Age appropriateness: primary, intermediate. I did not like this book. I thought that it was very boring and plain. The illustrations used very bland colors and did not draw my attention to the book. The main plot of the story was the two girls excitement to go to town for the first time and then their overwhelming experiences while in town. There was no conflict or suspense in this story which left me unexcited to flip the pages and see what happens next. The main point to this story is to provide information about what it was like to live in the olden days without cars or technology. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
