Moni spends each day up in the mountains with the goats and has a particularly special attachment to a kid named Maggerli. One day, Moni runs into a boy from another village who has discovered a beautiful diamond cross and the boy tells Moni that if he keeps his secret about the cross, he will buy Maggerli for Moni to save her from death. Moni struggles with keeping the deceitful secret, and finally confesses the truth to Paula (the owner of the cross) what has happened. Moni der Geissbub: Um das Bad Fideris zu erreichen, musst Du lange in die Höhe steigen. Wer Gott zum Freunde hat: In Bürgln, dem kleinen Dorfe oberhalb Altdorf, sind im Sommer die grünen Wiesen mit dem duftenden Gras und den frischen Blumen gar herrlich anzusehen und zu durchwandern. In sicherer Hut: In Dresden, nicht weit von der Terrasse an der Elbe, stand einmal ein grosses, steinernes Haus. Toni von Kandergrund: Hoch oben im Berner Oberland, noch eine gute Strecke über dem von Wiesen umsäumten Dörfchen Kandergrund, steht eine kleine, einsame Hütte, von einem alten Tannenbaum überschattet. Die Stauffer-Mühle: Hoch über dem kleinen Weiler Gsteig, am schmalen Bergpfad, der zur Schynigen Platte hinaufführt, steht eine einsame Hütte. Allein zum Trost: Umgeben von Wiesen und Aeckern, höher als alle andern Gehöfte, stand ein Haus, "am Forst" geheissen. Beim Weiden-Josef: Wo sich schöne grüne Weidehügel erheben, einer nach dem anderen, und die Taleinschnitte von schimmernden roten und blauen Sommerblumen bedeckt sind, liegt das Dörfchen Altkirch. | |
