I had the opportunity to take a class on Buddhism and Eastern Religion with Dr. Mitchell, and despite the size, it was one of the most in-depth classes I've experienced. This book went hand in hand, giving a strongly detailed, yet accessible history and overview of the religion, without falling into the trap of simplification that so many introductory texts offer. A great book for anyone looking to learn more about an unfamiliar religion, or to deepen an already thorough knowledge. ( )
