Love, which is life's greatest weapon, life's greatest tool, inspired me to do the biggest thing I've ever done. I wrote this book as a token of appreciation for a sick friend who was more than just someone I loved. Either diabetes will take her or the efforts of the people who fight diabetes around the world will see fruition in time. Here is my contribution and best effort to see a cure happen. My name is Greg and I've been fighting my own war for years, only my enemy isn't a person: it's schizophrenia. During my first psychotic episode I undertook this project and I give you my thoughts, my paranoia, my insanity from my own perspective, with my own words. Join me in the heart of fear where I forgot who I was.(100% of my profits will be going to the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)… (mehr)

Die Zeitfalte von Madeleine L'Engle (ToddFonseca)
ToddFonseca: Aileen Cho - Associate Editor, McGraw-Hill reviewed the pre-release of this book and commented: [The Time Cavern] reminded me of Madeleine L'Engel's sci-fi/science-themed children's books - an intelligent youth literature combination of adventure, fantasy and science.… (mehr)

Ghosts, time travel, and life on the farm.

Aaron is new in town. He's the kid whose family just moved into the haunted old farm house. But as Aaron and his new friend, Jake, dig deeper, there's more to that old ghost story than anyone realized, and it's up to them to set the record straight on a mystery that has puzzled the community for a hundred years.

Told in an direct and engaging style, Fonseca manages to convey the quiet urgency of life in the country for adventure-hungry pre-teens, and stirs it up with equal helpings of mystery and science fiction. For readers who like The Hardy Boys, The Three Investigators, or Tom Swift, this should fit right in. ( )

This was an enjoyable read, following the adventure of a boy who discovers a hidden cavern that holds a secret from another time. It was a delightful mystery story, written for children and that will be most appreciated by children.

As an adult reader I enjoyed the story, although it was perhaps a little to predictable to appreciate it fully.

I think this is the author's first book, and as such I would happily read later works. ( )

A thrilling read!, November 8, 2008

Todd A. Fonseca's 'The Time Cavern' is a fantastic read for children and adults alike. Todd has a knack for making the characters realistic and likeable, whether they be Aaron's parents or the main characters, 10 year old friends Aaron and Jake. I laughed many times while reading the book at the way Todd skillfully phrased certain things.

For the adult, the read takes you back to a time when the world is filled with adventure and mystery, begging to be discovered.

For the young reader, both boys and girls would appreciate the excitement of this book, certainly inspiring them to explore the wonders of our world beyond the television.

The Time Cavern is definitely an enjoyable page-turning read and could easily be turned into a series of books. It incorporates the various degrees of friendship and trust, and makes us able to appreciate what we learned in school...ie: history, the Amish culture, farming corn, constellations, and uncovering mysteries through the wonders of science.

I could go on but I don't want to spoil it! Enjoy!!!
