This is a great book about a snail named Maurice and a moose named Mona. They meet and become best friends. They keep each other company, play together and help one another. But, one day Maurice comes up missing. For days Mona missed Maurice and wished that he would return. One day when she was playing her piano, Maurice and his whole family showed up at Mona's house. This story is about Mona the moose has an unexpected guest, Maurice the snail, who ends up being a good friend and companion. They enjoy cooking together, playing Hide and Seek together, celebrating birthdays, etc. Then one day Maurice disappears and Mona is despondent and searches high and low, even putting up a poster offering a reward for information about Maurice. Days and days go by -- and then suddenly Maurice is back with his whole family. And Mona is so happy to see him again that she forgives him for leaving without telling her where he was going. ( )
