When Grayson Guillory's mother died, she helped her father get rid of the empty vodka and pill bottles next to the body. It wouldn't do for the governor of Louisiana to have a wife who committed suicide after years of mental illness--especially just as he's contemplating the presidency. Grayson's husband--her father's speechwriter--helps him keep the story quiet, and the family doctor makes sure the cause of death will be listed as a heart attack. But Grayson has a problem. When she thought she was helping her father cover up a suicide, she might actually have been covering up a murder. Because Grayson's mother left a videotape hidden among her personal effects in which she claims her life is in danger. Of course, Grayson's mother did suffer from paranoid delusions. This was one of my favorite reads...From the cover I didn't think I would like it but let me tell you I started reading this book and became so absorbed in it that I was not able to put it down. The main character starts to believe that her husband and father killed her mother and finds a video that claims there was something going on. With the way the story is written you're constantly wondering whether she's right or not and then its obvious the truth is what it is...ah...what a great book! Highly recommend to you! ( )

Grayson Guillory's father is the governor of Louisiana. Her mother committed suicide, and now Grayson's father has married her mother's sister. Grayson now believes that her father caused her mother's death and that it was not suicide. The writing was somewhat odd, and I couldn't really get into the book. It did get good reviews, so I will probably try it again at a later time. ( )
